The Ukraine Week in Brussels (Belgium) will be the final point to the unprecedented work of the Ukrainian and European Parliament on the internal reformation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which will turn it into a modern European institution.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this in his interview for the Rada TV Channel on Friday.

"This is the final point of our unprecedented work we conducted during almost a year," he said commenting on the upcoming Ukraine Week at the European Parliament in Brussels.

According to Groysman, over a year the Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament worked together on the elaboration of required changes, in particular, in the Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada, procedures, work of the committees and the Parliament itself, as well as on their bringing in line with the European standards.

"It means that we have to turn the Ukrainian Parliament into a modern European institution, transparent institution, an institution with absolutely open, public procedures. All that requires very many internal changes," Groysman said.

During the Ukraine Week, the Needs Assessment Mission of the European Parliament headed by Pat Cox is expected to present its conclusions on the Verkhovna Rada reform, Groysman noted.

"We have the only task — a modern European democratic institution — the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Groysman said.
